Happy Easter from SCOTS :)

Happy Easter from SCOTS

Meaning

A well-known idiom in the English language is NOT to put all your eggs in one basket! Usually, it is UNWISE to put all your eggs in one basket, because if you drop that basket, ALL your eggs will be gone — broken. So what may be WISE is to diversify and put eggs in different baskets just so that you won’t end up with NO EGGS.

Purpose

The point of the idiom is to tell someone NOT to count on ONE way, plan or solution, but rather, make sure you have other plans in place just in case your original plan does not work.

Example

Some people choose to invest all their money (eggs) in a business (basket) and invest NO money in anything else, which may be risky, because that business may not succeed, and if that happened, you would have lost ALL your money.
